Nonna's Casa

We left Lainate, Italy yesterday morning and made it to Postregna, Italy by 3:00 in the afternoon.

The trip here was relatively uneventful but there are a few thinks to note:
      1)  If An Italian driver signals to change lanes he does not mean let me in, it means get out of the way, I am coming over.
       2) Compared to the rest of Europe signage is poor and some intuition is required.

Despite this we arrived safely and unscathed, however John says he won't complain about Edmonton drivers for awhile.  If he does he said I can remind him about Italy.

It took two attempts to find Casa Draha, after using the driveway as a turnaround we asked a local for directions and were sent to where we had just been.  Once here Teresa, the proprietor, served us a mid day meal and a beer.  The premises are beautiful and makes John think of BC.  He can see himself  riding his motorcycle on the serpentine roads appreciating the sereness of the country side and stopping to explore the architecture with all it's history.  At 27 degrees they say it isn't hot here.

We then conversed with Teresa using our limited English, German and Italian to explain why we chose this  for our vacation.  This along with the photocopies of pictures of nonna, nonno, and dad had us on a world wind tour of the Commune of Stregna as Teresa recognized the family.  Teresa went well beyond being a proprietor of the B&B as she took us to the cemetery where grandma and grandpa are and to get a phone number of a cousin from other relations.  WE HAVE COUSINS.  In addition to all this, the relations showed us nonna's house which we took pictures of.  I could not take adequate pictures inside as it was too dark but we have some to bring home.  Being able to see nonna's actual house had me grinning ear to ear.  Although, I had hoped we might find nonna's Casa I thought this dream mind be a little wild.  We are hoping to meet up with other family later.
